So, we got hit by an ice storm on Tues/Wed. The power at our home went off at 2pm on Tues and came back on Wed morning. We made it just fine with warm blankets and a propane stove that Steve uses to warm the garage. We cooked up our Alaskan style burritos on our camp stove and watched a movie on the laptop...powered by the van in the garage. Awesome! We closed off the bedrooms in the house and put up blankets over the windows and doors to help keep the heat in. Nice and cozy and definitely a night we won't forget.
Looks like we will have some work to do with our trees. This is the tree in our front yard. Our bamboo in back is completely laid over and our tall poplar trees are hanging on. This is nothing compared to the damage that others have in our area. We are counting our blessings!

That's what our trees looked like last year when we lost power for 5 days. Glad yours is back on.
Wow, you definitely have some ice sister!!! Hope is melts soon and we're glad that you are warm and toasty again.
