Okay people, here is what I found out for going to the mountains next year.

Arapahoe Basin has the best rates for lift tickets, & ski/board lessons. A family of 4 can go for the price of a one day lift ticket at Keystone. Wow! You can check out their website at www.arapahoebasin.com

Lake Dillon has a park that you can sled all day, any day for free. No need to pay for snow tubing...bring your own or buy it when you get their.

Summitcove has the best rates for housing, ask for a discount or check their facebook account for great deals. We like Pines Lodge units, affordable and on the shuttle route to the slopes. It also had a warm swimming pool, hot tub and sauna.

Keystone is a great ski area for the die hards that also want to night ski. You will pay for it, but you will get interchangeable passes at A-basin, Breckenridge & Vail.

Save money by renting your ski gear in Denver, CO...it is half the price. Check out Sport Authority.

Breckenridge and Frisco Nordic Center offers trails cross-country and snow shoe trails and lessons for a great price. But you can do this for free if you get your equipment and go on the Savage River trail in Keystone.

Wait to get your gear. Their are two great thrift stores and consignment shops in Dillon. Get a great snow suit for cheap. We got Logan's Columbia snow boots for $3.
And the Wal-Mart in Frisco has all the gear too, you can buy a snow board or snow shoes if you want.

If you are looking for airfare, Southwest & Frontier run the specials.

The cheapest time to go is after the first weekend in Jan and before Presidents weekend, otherwise wait till after Spring break for the off-season rates.

And it is always cheaper to travel in a group.

Their is a lot more to do than ski & snowboard in the mountains...ice-skating, sledding, snow shoeing, snow trekking...so if you are on a budget you can still have an awesome time in the mountains.
